Please Sign In to Share your Best Practice/Project on Shelter Page 1 Preventing Typhoon Damage to Housing, Viet Nam 20 May 0018 - Summary This Development Workshop France (DWF) programme has worked over many years with families and local governments in Viet Nam to apply key principles of safe storm and flood resistant construction, both to existing and new homes, as well as to community buildings. Over 1,300 cyclone-resistant houses have been provided to date through the programme, with many other households choosing to use the construction techniques. Communicating these basic principles to local people is an important part of the programme. The building techniques are now being progressively adopted by local and provincial governments, as well as by other NGOs and agencies, both in Viet Nam and Indonesia. Les observateurs confirm�s ne devront pas s'attendre � faire des interventions orales pendant les auditions. Vous avez d�j� fait une demande pour participer en tant qu'orateur � cet �v�nement. Do not make arrangements for travel without a confirmation letter. Confirmation will be sent by email once pre-registration is approved. Travel, Visa and Subsistence. Those participating as observers will need to secure their own funding for travel and subsistence. Observers will need to make their own U.S. visa arrangements, if applicable. What to Expect. An extensive list of speakers is being finalized by the President of the General Assembly in consultation with a task force of civil society representatives.
