The fifty-seventh session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 4 to 15 March 2013.

In accordance with its multi-year programme of work (ECOSOC resolution 2009/15), the 2013 priority theme of the Commission on the Status of Women is "Elimination and prevention of all forms of violence against women and girls".

The Commission will also evaluate progress in the implementation of the agreed conclusions from its fifty-third session on "The equal sharing of responsibilities between women and men, including caregiving in the context of HIV/AIDS".

The Family Welfare in Brazil Civil Society (BEMFAM) is an NGO in consultative status with ECOSOC. We understand that the registration deadline has passed. However, we would like to know if there is any possibility of registering our NGO representative, Dr. Ney Costa. He will be already attending the 57th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, as one of IPPF's delegate (BEMFAM is a member of IPPF).
