Advancing Regional Recommendations on Post-2015 - A Dialogue between Civil Society, Governments and UN Representatives

22 September, 2013

Registration has now closed.

Heads of State and Government will gather at a UN General Assembly Special Event on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) on 25 September, to take stock of progress and renew commitment toward achieving the MDGs. They will also advance planning towards a cohesive and integrated post-2015 sustainable development agenda. In preparation for this event, a dialogue between civil society, governments and UN representatives will be convened on Sunday, 22 September 2013.

This event is organized by the UN Non-Governmental Liaison Service (UN-NGLS) with the involvement of the Post-2015 Development Planning Team of the Executive Office of the Secretary-General (EOSG). It will provide an opportunity for civil society and Member States to have a meaningful exchange on critical regional issues and policy recommendations looking forward to the next global development agenda.

Representatives of regional civil society networks will present the key recommendations with a focus on the findings of the UN-NGLS consultation on four post-2015 reports submitted to the UN Secretary General. Key recommendations and main points made at this event will be summarized by UN-NGLS into a brief outcome document. This summary, together with the UN-NGLS regional consultations report, will be presented and distributed to Member States during the General Assembly Special Event on 25 September.

NGO and civil society representatives can register here. Press the "Registration - Click Here" link to proceed. An existing profile in the ICSO database is required to register. The deadline for registration is 10 September 2013.

Swami Hardas Foundation(India). Ourorganiisation has been waiting for the consultative status at ECOSOC. We have been working on the major issue of health and peace to all.Community health projects are being executed in Asian and African countries by self-finance.The work of the organisation is at ground-level and totally charitable. Bonjour,
"Association de l'Intervention pour les Meres", A.I.M is an Organization based in Mali, taking action against Maternal Mortality and in recognition of the daunting challenge of reducing maternal mortality in most African countries by 75 per cent (in comparison with 1990's figures) by 2015, has recommended to support the MDGs especially the Millennium Development Goal 5 (MDG5).
AIM prepared a special strategy of action for the coming days that will be our contribution to the post- 2015 development agenda.
Basically, there is a concern that many African countries may not attain MDG 5 if efforts are not redoubled. This was despite decades of long struggle with the factors worsrning Mother and Child health and the free medical services ( as the free cesarian section) in many African countries. Our experience on the ground permits us to confirm that hope is kept to attain UN development goals within a new time frame that should be settle down soon.
