ASSEMBLY OF ARMENIANS OF WESTERN ARMENIA

Dear Brothers and Sisters

I am writing to inform you that our application for participation in the first World Conference on Indigenous People, which will be held on 22-23 September 2014 at the United Nations in New York, has not been taken into consideration.

We haven't got a single reply by their part since the day of our registration(27/06/2014): perhaps some political reasons are hidden behind this ignorance.

However, in spite of our absence we stand all heart with you, dear friends.

Yours sincerely

Armenag Aprahamian

President of the National Council of Western Armenia

However, since that date, I have not received a response back.
Is there any way you can update me on the status?
I'm looking forward to attending by all means.
Thanks in advance.

Sad to hear this info, it's look like UN blind their eyes to closed the
Debacle of Decolonization in West New Guinea or West Papua.
Maybe we must take other way to push UN to response their involvement in
Debacle of Decolonization and Illegal Self Determination in West Papua
since 1960s.

May God Bless UN to hear West Papua Peoples Voice.

Hello WPLO and OPPB,

My NGO accreditation has also been 'pending' since my pre-registration in July, despite having been active at the UN (EMRIP and CERD) and having worked and advocated alongside many groups who have been approved.

I have not yet found out the process of the PGA/Secretariat/Office of the PGA in deciding what organizations have and have not been approved to participate, but I am searching for that information. I feel it is important that the process of accreditation on the part of the PGA for participation is fully transparent, given the number of people who have been turned away and accepted, the issues being addressed in the organization of this event, first and foremost State-Indigenous relationships, and the nature of the binding outcome document.

It is an even larger problem if organizations, peoples and advocates & lawyers with a strong legal position on self-determination and decolonization are turned away systematically, and I should hope that not be the case, given that the non-addressing of these issues in the context of Indigenous Peoples and States are at the root of many conflicts and suffering and long-standing major blockages to access to real peace and justice.

If the GA Resolution WCIP outcome document is still without the text "self-determination" (other than in the Alta Outcome document) at the end of the WCIP, and if it is approved that way by all participating, then it will be especially problematic that organizations like ours have been blocked from accreditation and did not have the chance to present the issues we represent within the WCIP itself. However, as it stands now, this is already a problem that we must continue to push forward and get answers to as to why we have not (yet) been accredited.

With kind regards,

International Organization for Self-Determination and Equality (IOSDE)
