2016 ECOSOC High-Level Segment Open Call for Oral and Written Statements

The Office for ECOSOC Support and Coordination of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs is pleased to announce an open call for oral and written statements for the 2016 ECOSOC High Level Segment (HLS) for NGOs in ECOSOC consultative status.

The theme for the 2016 session of the Economic and Social Council is ôImplementing the post-2015 development agenda: moving from commitments to resultsö.

The HLS will include the three-day ministerial meeting of the High-Level Political Forum on sustainable development (HLPF), convened under the auspices of the Council; the high-level policy dialogue with international financial and trade institutions; the biennial Development Cooperation Forum; and a thematic discussion on ôInfrastructure for sustainable development for allö. The theme of the 2016 HLPF is ôEnsuring that no one is left behindö.

The HLS will be held from 18 to 22 July 2016 at United Nations Headquarters in New York.

The annual call for submission of written statements and requests for oral statements for this event will be open from 28 March 2016 to 15 April 2016. Late submissions will not be accepted. -->

Please note that the deadline for submission of oral statement requests and written statements has been extended until 22 April 2016.

Please note that registration is not required for this event. All NGOs in consultative status are welcome to attend provided that they have a valid UN Ground Pass. For information about requesting ground passes please click here.
