2. Organizing a side event
NGOs with consultative status have the option of organizing a side event in conjunction with a main event organized by ECOSOC or its subsidiary bodies. If you would like to organize a side event, you must directly contact the organizers of the particular event in the respective ECOSOC functional commission and discuss your proposal with them. 3. Submission of Written Statements
Written statements relevant to the work of ECOSOC may be submitted by organizations in
General and Special consultative status, on subjects which the organization has a special competence. Such statements shall be circulated by the Secretary General of the United Nations to the members of the Council.

4. Submission of Oral Statements
Non-governmental organizations with general or special consultative status have the option of presenting an oral statement at the ECOSOC annual substantive session. Topics for oral statements should relate to the Council¿s main theme for the particular year. The Committee on NGOs makes recommendations to the Council as to which organizations should make an oral presentation to the Council and on which items they should be presented.
