GA HLM on Non-Communicable Diseases - Nomination of representatives of accredited organizations


19 - 20 September, 2011

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED


The General Assembly in its resolution A/RES/65/238, decided that a high-level meeting of the General Assembly on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases shall be held on 19 and 20 September 2011 in New York. The event shall address the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases worldwide, with a particular focus on developmental and other challenges and social and economic impacts, particularly for developing countries.

Please read the following instructions carefully.

Civil society organizations that have been accredited for the High-level Meeting of the General Assembly on the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Diseases on 19-20 September 2011 at UN Headquarters in New York, are invited to nominate a maximum of 2 (two) representatives to attend the Meeting.

Before you start, please verify if your organization has been accredited by reviewing the list here:

Only if your organization appears on this list and is accredited, you will be able to nominate a maximum of 2 (two) representatives per organization.

Closing date for nomination is 30 August 2011.

Please note the following:


  • Nomination of participants of accredited organizations is required. The response from civil society to this meeting has been unusually high, and space in the meetings rooms is limited. Subject to space and security restrictions, we will do our utmost to ensure that at least one person from those organizations that confirm their attendance has entry to either a plenary session or a round table. An overflow room with live broadcast of the screenings will be available on Monday, 19 September and participants will have access to side events taking place at UN Headquarters.
  • You will not be able to participate if you have not received our confirmation.
  • The United Nations will not be in a position to fund travel expenses or accommodation to the High-Level meeting.
  • Confirmed participants are responsible for visa and other necessary arrangements required for the entry in the country where the meeting takes place.
  • Confirmed participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
  • Confirmed participants will need to be prepared to make arrangements for pickup of access passes between Friday 16 September ¿ Sunday 18 September. Pick-up will be available between 12:00 ¿ 18:00 on all three days. Because of security arrangements it will not be possible to pick up passes and tickets on the day of the event. All participants must come in person to pick up their passes. Further information on picking up tickets will be available closer to the event.

    Cancer Aid Society of India has got confirmation to attend the Meeting on 19th and 20th of September. We wish to confirm our participation in the same however we are unable to trace the link. Please advise.
