104th session - Human Rights Committee

At its 104th session in March 2012 at United Nations headquarters, New York, the Human Rights Committee will examine the efforts of the following five countries to implement the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights:

-Dominican Republic
-Yemen
-Turkmenistan
-Guatemala
-Mozambique (postponed)
-Cape Verde

The Committee will also adopt lists of issues on the following five countries:

-Philippines
-Bosnia and Herzegovina
-Paraguay
-Portugal
-Turkey

As UNA-Zimbabwe, we are willing to send two representatives to this forum as observers but no confirmation has come so far and we are left with 10days to start. We need to assist them to apply for US Visa. We are waiting for the confirmation.

In our opinion,there must be a high number of delegates from religious organizations who are really contradiction the tenets of religions to the respect of human rights.We must understand that God rules by means of three arms namely:lovingkingness; judgement and righteousness(Jeremiah 9:24) which are directly related to the three arms of governance namely: the executives; judiciary and the legislature.Who ever will rule tangential to these norms is likely to fail and become a nuisance to society.There is the need for immediate correction and conformity.Apostle Peter Okyere Darko

Global Mercy Mission Project is expecting a lot of vibrancy as touching this august UN meeting in New York.If one takes a cursory look at events unfolding in other countries in which the rule of law has been sidelined,there is the need to push along a lot of positive mechanisms in order to neutralize those inhaling human-made catastrophies who do not respect the rights of others.
