In its decision A/66/544 of 22 December 2011, the General Assembly made arrangements for the accreditation and participation of relevant NGOs and other major groups in the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development. As per paragraphs 2 and 3 of that decision, NGOs and other major groups currently not in consultative status who wish to attend and contribute to the Conference, must complete a questionnaire to apply to the secretariat for that purpose. The Secretariat will evaluate your request and make a recommendation to the General Assembly for its decision on the accreditation of your organization.

ACCREDITATION IS NOW CLOSED. The deadline for accreditations was 20 February 2012.

The General Assembly will now review all submitted questionnaires with requests for accreditation. The reference number you received once you have completed the questionnaire serves as your confirmation it was received. Recommended organizations will be informed in late March 2012 of the decision to admit those organziations as an accredited group to the Conference. Those groups can then proceed and pre-register participants on behalf of their organizations. Pre-registration is REQUIRED and needs to be completed by 20 May 2012.

Note: If your organization is already in consultative status with ECOSOC, or if you were accredited to the World Summit on Sustainable Development, you do NOT need to complete this questionnaire. You can proceed directly to preregister your nominated representatives on the following link: bit.ly/gquosp.
