Informal Interactive Hearings of the General Assembly with Non-governmental organizations, Civil society organizations and the Private sector

UN Headquarters in New York
14 - 15 June, 2010

2010 will be a critical year in determining which development pathways our world will pursue. In 2000, UN Member States agreed to the Millennium Declaration and committed themselves to achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015.

On 20-22 September 2010, the General Assembly will hold, in New York, a High-level Plenary Meeting, also referred to as the "MDG Summit". The Summit's main focus will be to build on what we have learned during the past 10 years since the adoption of the Millennium Declaration and how to accelerate progress towards the internationally agreed development goals, in particular MDGs. The Summit will take stock of the successes, best practices, lessons learned, obstacles and gaps related to the MDGs and other development goals.

As a part of the process leading to the Summit, the General Assembly will also convene interactive hearings with representatives of NGOs, civil society and the private sector from 14-15 June. The outcomes of these hearings will provide an input to the preparatory process for the Summit and be issued as an Assembly document.

    MY REPORT
The meeting was such a great one. I was opportuned to meet great people/speakers /moderators who contributed during the sesions, like wise the organizers of side events, it was really a beneficial privelege to me and my NGO network. I am hoping that we would be given more oppourtunity to attend future programs. I value the discussions and presentations made in actualising the dream of UN MDG`S in 2015 and strongly assume in the General Hearing that will be held in September that it would become a reality. Let us work diligently in our respective networks to ensure the MDG becomes a reality and achieved implementations.

    Dear All Friendz,
You may know, the devastating blaze in Dhaka the capital of Bangladesh with its horizontal and vertical swipes wreaked such havoc on human lives and property that it sent instant shock waves throughout the country and well beyond. And,we believe
that it is within our means to accomplish the task whatever may be the enormity of the problems. From Aim in Life Foundation,We will help the affected families earn their livelihood.I believe this link will help you to know more about devastating fire in Dhaka.http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_pictures/8721841.stm.

Our organization is expecting a lot of vibrancy in this Interactive Hearing on the 14-15th June 2010.The member states who are to appear for the September Summit must be kept on their toes to effect the realization of these noble goals for mankind before 2015.
We wish to use this platform to appeal to all faith-based organizations to include the needy, refugees, destitudes etc,in their annual successive budget statements to create safe haven for them.

This hearing is a cornerstone of what is yet expected to impact sound civil society organisation participation... Organisations willing to cooperate on this matter should be getting together and work out action platforms to undertake the challenge in a coordianted manner...

While the prospect of generating more energy inevitably raises environmental concerns, research in the World Energy Outlook 2009, a publication by the International Energy Agency (IEA), suggests that such fears are unfounded.

Nice for UNDESA/ECOSOC to create a web for CSOs ,a mechanism to embrace more reliable NGOs to compliment the good work being done by UN.I will then suggest to colleaque faith-based organizations to lend a helping hand in the direction of UN since most of us are harbouring enough and stagnating money meant for the libration of the needy, destitute etc.

Our NGO Socoal Development Association, has already submitted nomination of Md.Jakir Hossain, on behalf of our organisation. Whether it is mandatory to pre-register even for representatives who have send nominations for participation in informal interactive hearings of General Assembly. I mean to say whether pre-registration is neccessary both for representatives having speaking roles as well as observers.
