COMMITTEE ON NGOS - 2011 RESUMED SESSION, 31 JAN - 9 FEB 2011

The Committee on NGOs, a standing committee of ECOSOC, will meet again in January to review a record number of applications by NGOs seeking to consultative status with ECOSOC. Accreditation is important to many NGOs, as it allows for access and participation in all of the subsidiary bodies of the Council, such as the Commission on the Status of Women, the Commission on Sustainable Development, and the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues. In addition, ECOSOC consultative status also allows for participation in the Human Rights Council and many of the human rights treaty bodies of the United Nations. More detailed information on the session's documentation can be found in the  Information note .

To this end, NGO staff with experience in the organizational management are invited to participate in an online research survey. The survey is conducted by the Department of International Management at the University of Eichstaett-Ingolstadt in Germany.
