Changing the Name of your Organization
A Non-Governmental Organization in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) wishing to change their name in the official records of the United Nations has to submit the following:- A letter of intent, including old name and new name;
- Supporting documents - this may include all legal documents showing that the change of name was approved by your government;
- Constitution/By-laws under the new name;
Please submit all this information to the NGO Branch with the subject & category "Change of Name".
Send Message to the NGO Branch Upon receipt of the email, and all required documents, your request will be placed for consideration by the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations. Please be advised that requests for change of name received before 1 December 2009 will be reviewed during the Regular Session of the following year while requests received before 1 April will be considered during the Resumed Session of the same year..Please also be advised that the change of name will be officially recognized after the report of the Committee on NGOs is adopted by ECOSOC.
