Financing for Development

The objective of DESA's Financing for Development Office is to provide effective secretariat support for sustained follow-up within the United Nations system to the agreements and commitments reached at the International Conference on Financing for Development, as contained in the Monterrey Consensus, as well as financing for development-related aspects of the outcomes of major United Nations conferences and summits in the economic and social fields, including the development goals set out in the United Nations Millennium Declaration.

The table below "Meeting Participation" lists the participation of organizations as speakers or roundtable participants of the Special high-level meeting of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) with the Bretton Woods institutions, the World Trade Organization and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (Spring Meetings of ECOSOC) and the High-level Dialogue on Financing for Development and the Follow-up International Conference on Financing for Development to Review the Implementation of the Monterrey Consensus. It does not represent full participation of organizations in the financing for development follow-up process.
