Mission statement:	The Agencia Latinoamericana de Información – ALAI – is a regional organization specialized in communication and information. Its action is inspired by the struggle for social transformation based on justice, equity and solidarity, with full respect for human rights, human dignity and gender equality. It is committed to promoting citizen participation –especially of marginalized groups– in development and public affairs. Identifying communication as a strategic area for social action and organization, ALAI considers its democratization to be indispensable for a democratic society. ALAI's mission is to formulate and implement solutions to the different challenges this poses.
