Mission statement:	The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is a global communion of churches in the Lutheran tradition, living and working together for a just, peaceful, and reconciled world. We strive to put our Christian faith into action through humanitarian and development work, advocacy, shared witness, and dialogue. The LWF meets the needs of people irrespective of race, sex, creed, nationality, or political conviction. The LWF works to foster awareness, advocacy, solidarity and action at local, national, and international levels, on a wide range of human rights, humanitarian, and development issues.

Organizational structure:	It is governed by a Council and an Executive Committee. It holds its general assembly every six to seven years. The operations of the LWF are led and coordinated by its Communion Office, based in Geneva and led by the LWF General Secretary, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the organization
