Mission statement:	AICH was founded in 1969, by Native American volunteers as a community-based organization, mandated to improve the status of Native Americans, and to foster inter-cultural understanding. The AICH philosophy is that solutions can be shared as well, by providing programs in job training and placement; health services referral; HIV referral and case management services; and counseling programs for alcoholism and substance use. AICH also sponsors programs in cultural enrichment through a performing arts program and the first permanent Native American gallery in New York City.
