Mission statement:	I have been actively involved in advocating and writing on the issues of indigenous peoples of India, primarily on tribal women, tribal rights, culture and environmental concerns. I am also engaged in coordinating seminars, workshops, etc. engaging tribal students and professors of Delhi University and other indigenous peoples' groups. I am an active member of Adivasi Vijaya Samajic Sanstha. I am involved in the issues, problems and rehabilitation of the trafficked tribal women domestic workers especially in Delhi. I have been also promoting indigenous language by translating 50 Kurukh (Oraon tribe) poems to English.

The society represents Oraon tribal women mostly but there are women of other indigenous groups too such as Munda, Santhal and Ho tribes. They are known as Scheduled Tribe as per the notification of the President of India. These tribes are the indigenous peoples of Chotanagpur, Jharkhand. Chotanagpur is the collective name for the Ranchi, Hazaribagh, and Kodarma plateaus, which have an area of 25,293 sq m (65,509 sq km). Its largest division is the Ranchi Plateau. These tribes have spread to other states like West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Assam, and Andaman and Nicobar islands. The situation of these women tribal domestic workers is pathetic as they live in abject condition in the cities. In Delhi alone there are more than 120,000 such girls who have either voluntarily or involuntarily migrated due to various economic and political factors in the place of their birth. The Oraons are more than 2,000,000 in India and are the fourth largest tribe as per the Ministry of tribal Affairs, Government of India. Their socio-economic condition is deplorable, especially their women and children are the worst victims of human trafficking in the recent past. For lack of livelihood opportunities, lack of education and employment in their state of birth, they are being allured as domestic helps in the mega cities, where they end up as cheap and disposable laborers and as sex workers.
