| Organizational structure: | 1. Organizational Structure: ADL has a multi-tiered structure composed of national and regional elements: a. ADL is supervised by a self-perpetuating independent Board of Directors consisting of 23 directors. b. National Leadership: CEO and National Director: The chief executive of ADL is responsible for overall strategic leadership and management of the organization. This position has been held by Jonathan Greenblatt since 2015. Senior Leadership Team: Includes department heads overseeing areas such as civil rights, education, policy, law, communications, and finance. c. Regional Offices: ADL operates 25 regional offices across the country, as well as satellite offices in Israel, Europe and Latin America. Each regional office has a regional director and a local non-fiduciary board of directors. These offices carry out the organization’s mission at the local level, engaging in education, community outreach, and incident response. 2. Decision-Making Process: a. Strategic Decisions: Strategic initiatives are developed by the senior leadership team in coordination with the Board of Directors. Major policy positions and advocacy strategies are approved by the Board of Directors. b. Program Implementation: Departments within the national office develop and implement programs, campaigns, and educational resources. Regional offices adapt and apply national initiatives to fit local contexts. c. Policy Development: ADL develops policies based on research, expert consultation, and community input. Public policy positions are crafted by the legal and policy teams and reviewed by executive leadership and board members. d. Community Input and Partnerships: ADL regularly engages with communities, partners, and stakeholders for input. Community feedback is often relayed through regional offices to national leadership, influencing program development and advocacy. e. Financial Oversight: ADL has a professional Chief Financial Officer and a professional finance team. The Finance Committee of the Board of Directors oversees finance, budgeting and financial planning. It consists of solely independent directors. The Audit Committee of the Board oversees audit and risk for the organization. It consists of solely independent directors.
