NCJW has over 210,000 advocates engaged in our work. In the United States, NCJW’s national work is supported by 49 local Sections (chapters) across the country. NCJW, including our Sections, is governed by a Board of Directors which sets the policy and direction of the organization, contributes to the achievement of programmatic goals, and fulfills a variety of fiduciary responsibilities. NCJW advocates shape and inform the direction of our work. The NCJW Board of Directors is historically composed of directors who have served in leadership roles of their local Sections. The NCJW Board of Directors consists of the Officers, no fewer than nine and up to seventeen elected Directors, and the immediate past president for one Triennium (three-year period). Additional Directors can be appointed at the discretion of the Board and President during a Triennium. The elected Officers of NCJW are a president, three vice-presidents, treasurer, assistant treasurer, secretary and such other Officers as the Board of Directors may designate. The Executive Committee, chaired by the president, consists of the Officers and the immediate past president. The Board of Directors has the power and authority over NCJW’s affairs, formulates policies & procedures, and engages a chief executive officer (CEO), who is held accountable and responsible to the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.
