| Purpose of the organization: | 3BL Associates is Bahrain's first social impact consultancy cum think-do-tank, which is dedicated to working with progressive and innovative organizations that are committed to Triple Bottom Line (3BL) performance of Social Equity, Environmental Sustainability, and Economic Growth—also known as the 3 P’s: People, Planet, Profit. Founded in 2010, 3BL Associates also aims to contribute to Bahrain’s socio-economic development through multi-sector partnerships. As we redefine a new paradigm of economic development for the 21st century, short-termism will no longer suffice. We believe that aligning social and environmental initiatives with organizational strategy lends to competitive advantage, and is an imperative for long-term value and sustainable development. We also believe that today’s world requires collaboration and cross-sector partnerships; not action in isolation. As a hybrid, 3BL Associates lies at the intersection of business, government, civil society, and academia. |
| Activities relevant to the conference of States Parties to the convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: | Social Entrepreneurship We work with new or existing non-profit organizations to help them rethink their operations as a non-profit, and transform them into a social enterprise. This means using a business model to generate revenue, to invest in social change through sustainable, scalable, and replicable ventures. Social enterprise allows NGOs to spend less time fundraising and more time serving the mission they were established to achieve. Youth Leadership Around 60 percent of the Arab population is under 25 years old and the region’s ‘youth bulge’ presents a growing challenge. We educate and prepare youth to lead by instilling values of ethics, collaboration, diversity, innovation, entrepreneurialism, responsible leadership, and social impact. Our goal is to raise future generations which continuously outperform their predecessors. We empower youth to be change-makers in their societies through programs, workshops and group coaching. Social Responsibility Strategy We work with organizations to develop a clear social responsibility vision and strategy with milestones and measurable indicators, in alignment with the overall business strategy; going beyond traditional philanthropic or volunteer-based SR. We help companies identify partnerships that leverage core strengths and resources to develop creative solutions to social problems. |
