Organizational structure: “The Awakening” membership is open to all those (men, women and transgender) conscious to the overall environment of the region. General Body members meet once a year to review the programme and finances of “The Awakening”. The members of General Body elect Board of Directors through election. Internal auditor for the accounts of the Society is also selected by the General Body. The General Body has the right to propose and pass amendments in the bye-laws. The Board is a voluntary body, which acts as the Board of Directors. The Board is responsible to frame and amend policy guidelines for the Society and move the Society forward within the bounds of its vision and philosophy and monitor the activities of the Society towards the objectives of the Society. Presently there are seven members of the Board. A Chairperson selected for a one year term represents the Board. A Vice-Chairperson is also elected for one year term. The BOD meets after every six months to take policy decisions, while day-to-day management functions resides with Executive Director supported by a team comprising of coordinators and sector specialist. The activities in the field are coordinated by the field staff and community volunteers/activists.
Number and type of members: Total number of members are 18. (9 Men and 9 Women). PATRON: A person who pays Rs.3000/- or more in lump sum to the Organization and whose association with the Organization is helpful for the promotion of the objectives of the Organization shall be invited by the executive board to be its patron. 2. LIFE TIME MEMBERS: A person who pays Rs. 2000/- or more in lump sum to the Organization shall be invited by the executive board to become a lifetime member. 3. ORDINARY MEMBER: Any person who applied on the prescribed from may become a member subject to introduction and recommendation of the executive board on payment of annual membership fee Rs: 200/- 4. HONORARY MEMBER: Any person who renders meritorious services for the causes of the Organization may be nominated as an honorary member by the executive board without payment of membership fee.

Purpose of the organization: Mission: We strive to empower the vulnerable and disenfranchised women in rural areas of Pakistan by building feminist leadership, advances for women’s human rights, advocate and mobilize for gender equality and social justice. Theory of Change “The Awakening” believes that women and girls can make their own decision, exert control over their bodies and demand their rights by building their capacity in self-confidence, leadership and knowledge of women and girls about their rights and creating feminist platforms to challenge oppressive norms and power structures.
