Mission statement:	It can be seen that the current situation of older citizens in the Portuguese society is very vulnerable. This vulnerability has several dimensions: physical, economic, social and political. Mitigating these vulnerabilities is imperative for APRe! notably to fill the gap of an adequate representation of this social group with the political power. In this context, APRe! has, in accordance with its Statutes, its fundamental mission divided in the following areas: • Represent retired members,and pensioners. • Promote civic participation in the definition of public policies aimed at a more just and solidary society. • Promote actions that can improve and dignify the life of its members. • To become a social partner in the representation and defense of older citizens. • Establish cooperative relations with other associations or entities with similar ends.
