    Organizational structure: FUNCTIONAL STRUCTURE; International programs are negotiated at the highest level of which a board of home base and foreign members called International Member’s Union (ITMU) sit to setup overall implementation objectives and targets for the National Control Unit (NCU), When our particular programs are only within a single country the NCU handles all programs and only sends feed backs to its foreign representatives. The NCU further delegates program implementations to the Primary management Unit (PMU) which then communicates with the following; 1. National selection committee in charge of choosing field action units and offices for programs. 2. Grantees/Project Coordination Units 3. Technical Assistance for program support 4. Financial and Administrative sections/services of MAHSRA. The countries’ head office coordinates all sub units and ensures direct contacts with the beneficiaries. GOVERNING STRUCTURE; Internal Governance • MAHSRA’s OFFICIALS - MAHSRA’s officials of both sexes are democratically elected from amongst the registered members through a secret ballot or show of hand, agreed upon by members before voting commences. - They are elected for a term of three (3) years in office, they may be re-elected, but will not hold their post for more than two terms or six (6) consecutive years except with a general plus vote of confidence to their governance and persons. - In the event of death, resignation or withdrawal for any reason of one or more officials, the MAHSRA’s executive shall replace them provisionally. They may not exercise such full rights unless the vacant posts is over half or its critical to program implementation objectives. Such provisional replacement shall be subject to ratification by the next general meeting and the member(s) appointed should complete the term of office of the official he/she replaces. MAHSRA officials are designated thus:- - Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) - Managing Director (M.D) - Secretary General (S.G) - Secretary (S) - Financial Secretary (F.S) - Treasurer (T) - Technical Adviser (TA) - Legal Adviser (LA) - Communication Officer (CO) Major responsibility of Officials; • THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER - Be of good temperature, honest, with leadership qualities and having a good knowledge of all areas of operation of MAHSRA. - Represents MAHSRA in all acts of civil life. - Convenes and chairman all General/Extra-Ordinary and executive meetings. - Approves all expenditures. - Signs bank cheques - Casts a second vote in case of a tie of vote’s casts. • THE MANAGING DIRECTOR - Assists the Chief Executive Officer on administrative matters. • SECRETARY GENERAL - Is appointed by the Chief Executive Officer from among registered members, based on criteria of professional ethics on bureaucratic democracy and general management skills. - Designs and admits projects / operations of MAHSRA. - Keeps records of all acting and would be members of MAHSRA. - Receives and scrutinizes all official letters of MAHSRA. • SECRETARY - Maintain the minutes book and attendance register of each meeting. - Distributes the invitations and agenda for each meeting. • FINANCIAL SECRETARY - Prepares and keeps all financial records of MAHSRA. . - Prepares the draft budget for approval by the General Meeting of MAHSRA - Signs the Bank Cheques well. • TREASURER - The Treasurer is responsible for the “Treasurer’s Fund”. - Undertakes all payments duly approved by the CEO. • TECHNICAL ADVISER (S) - Advises the Executive/General Meeting of members on crucial matters affecting MAHSRA. • LEGAL ADVISER (S) - Ensures a legal procedural implementation of MAHSRA’s Actions. - Advocates for the rights of registered members and the rights of existence to the best interest of MAHSRA’s Objectives and goals.
    Number and type of members: According to our constitution any physical person can become a member of MAHSRA provided he/she abides to the governing rules in force. The Following categories/types of members presently exist in MAHSRA various fields; 1. Medical field (medical doctors, health specialists and nurses) 2. Financial field (Bankers and Accountants) 3. Social field (Musicians, comedians, writers and Actors) 4. Media field (journalists and pressmen) 5. Business field (local market men and women) 6. Health sector (PLWHA and disabled) 7. Miscellaneous (students, unemployed and social activists).
