Mission statement:	REN21, an international multi-stakeholder network for renewable energy policy REN21 is a global multi-stakeholder renewable energy policy network that connects a wide range of key stakeholders from governments, international organisations, industry, and civil society to facilitate knowledge exchange, policy development and joint action towards the advancement of renewable energy worldwide. REN21’s multi-stakeholder basis gives credibility to both its message, as well as its function as a messenger. Linking the energy, development and environment sectors, REN21 strengthens the influence of the unique renewable energy community that came together at the “renewables 2004” conference in Bonn.
Year established:	2004
Organizational structure:	The multi-stakeholder Steering Committee is the central governing entity of REN21. The Steering Committee initiates or approves the REN21 work plan and is responsible for the structural development of the Network. Composed of distinguished individuals from various geographical and institutional backgrounds, the Steering Committee is a nodal point for the relevant actors in the global renewable energy policy arena, from Governments, IGOs, NGOs, industry, finance, and regional/local governments. http://www.ren21.net/AboutREN21/SteeringCommittee/tabid/5018/Default.aspx
