Organizational structure: Registered company in England and Wales. In process of registering for charitable status. Secretariat based in London, overseen by a Board of Trustees. Informal support from an Advisory Committee.
Number and type of members: We have over 700 member organisations in 85 countries around the world. Girls Not Brides members vary in size, location, and the type of work they do – from the grassroots groups working to end child marriage and support child brides in their communities, to international NGOs seeking to bring global attention to this neglected problem. The members work across a broad range of sectors, including human rights, health, education and economic empowerment. This is a crucial characteristic of the Partnership, given the importance of a cross-sectoral approach to addressing child marriage.
