Mission statement:
ECO-FAWN has formed as an N.G.O. in 2009 and has grown into conservation organization initially with nature and wildlife conservation as its prime concern. Later the society stretched it's wings to rural development to cater large mass in rural sector. It occupies a major position in the evolution of the conservation movement. The society has been attempting to protect nature through its conservation and environmental awareness programmes regionally, the most noteworthy being the awareness programme in forest areas among lambada tribals. This in essence is how environment education can pave the way to a sustainable future. With an amendment in the Society it has started to accommodate other Social issues, particularly in the rural areas where most population is crippled with poverty and illiteracy. The Society’s objective is to conduct awareness programmes on various schemes and policies provided by the Government. Thus by benefiting people, rural poverty can be tackled. The Objectives of the Society: To endeavor, strive and assist government realize its objectives in the following departments: Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Dairying & Fisheries, Art & Culture, Biotechnology, Child welfare and Women's Empowerment, Communication & Information Technology, Civic Issues, Differently Abled, Drinking Water, Disaster Management, Dalit Upliftment, Education & Literacy, Environment & Forests, Food Processing, Health & Family Welfare, HIV/AIDS, Housing, Human Rights Advocacy, Information & Communication Technology, Labor & Employment, Land Resources, New & Renewable Energy, Nutrition, Panchayat Raj, Rural Development & Poverty Alleviation, Tribal Affairs, Urban Development, Vocational Training, Water Resources, Youth Affairs, Legal Awareness & Aid, Micro Finance (SHGs), Micro Small & Medium Enterprises and -To organize seminars and workshops which disseminate information on the need to protect the forests, wild life, natural resources and enlighten people on the environmental hazards caused by the day to day activities of the man. To develop a sense of commitment among the forest dependent communities and the role they play in preserving the forest and the wild life. To strive to impress the legislators to amend for new laws which protect the environment and wildlife and forests. Educate on Moisture and soil conservation, water conservation, and the need to promote afforestation programmes. To stop deforestation and promote Biodiversity Conservation programmes, Conduct study tours in rural areas so as to acquaint with the environmental issues that arise in local environment and the way they impact the general public. To strive to protect the natural resources and promote use of renewable sources of energy. To assist the forest department and government in realizing the goals of afforestation and wild life conservation with the inclusion of locals and making them stake holders. To Create general awareness and help foster people's movement for promoting afforestation and eco-development. To Launch plantation programmes in the deforested areas, waste lands and conduct restoration of degraded forest areas and adjoining lands. To Promote Organic farming by ways and means. To Establish plant nurseries and promote massive plantation programmes. To Distribute plants free of cost. To design and present awards/ trophies/ gifts to the act of bravery in protecting/ helping the distressed wild animal. To Address to the problems caused by growing population and the way it impacts on natural resources and need to use resources wisely. To provide Workshops, Training Courses, Camps, Rallies, Public meetings, Exhibitions, Competitions, Demonstration projects which provide general information on environment and wildlife conservation. To create employment to the local tribes adjoining the forests and Promote Sustainable Forest Management.
