Mission statement:	Access Israel's mission is to protect the dignity and freedom of people with disabilities by enabling them to participate in all major spheres of life with full equality and with as much independence as possible. Over 1.6 million people with disabilities live in Israel today (20% of the population). Among them, some 700,000 individuals confront severe physical, sensory, cognitive or mental disabilities inflicted by participation in combat, terrorist acts, car and work related accidents, disease and old age. Despite advanced legislation, many sites and services in the country remain inaccessible to people with disabilities, causing them great suffering and preventing them from leading normal lives. Thus, they are dually punished not only by their unfortunate life circumstances but also by an environment that dooms them to be prisoners in their homes. Furthermore, due to prejudice and social stigma, the disabled population is marginalized and cast as an invisible minority. To fulfill its mission, Access Israel works on three levels: • Promoting the accessibility of private and public sites and services. • Advancing accessibility legislation and regulation for the benefit and rights of people with disabilities. • Increasing awareness to accessibility and tolerance towards the disabled population and rebutting wrongful social stigma through media campaigns, conferences and educational activities. In the 16 years since its establishment, Access Israel has revolutionized accessibility and quality of life for over 700,000 people with disabilities and their families. Access Israel is now a leading organization in Israel, one of its kind worldwide and often a model for making business, government, academic and non-profit organizations accessible to people with disabilities.The activities of Access Israel accredited the Organization and its founder with various prizes for exceptional performance, namely: The Rick Hansen Different Makers Award (2011), The Fishman Group Award (2011), 101 most influential People of The Marker Magazine (2010), The Leonor and Larry Zusman Award for Social Services (2010), The Israeli Construction Center Award (2009), The Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneurship Award (2006), and the Golden Wings Entrepreneurship Club Social Initiative Award (2004), to name a few.

Organizational structure:	Access Israel incorporates individuals with disabilities in its organization. The organization's offices and training centers are all accessible to all kind of disabilities. Access Israel offers varied accessible services to all employees, such as an advanced audio system. Access Israel also works on making all websites in Israel accessible with the cooperation of Israel Internet Association. Moreover, the organization regularly works with a sign language translator and makes sure all brochures, presentations and other materials are suited for individuals with all kind of disabilities. All employment opportunities are offered to all individuals (including people with disabilities) and they are published in our website which is the most viewed website by the disabled population and their families. In each event Access Israel conducts, we encourage the participation of people with disabilities and local organizations that serve the disabled and make sure all events are accessible. Access Israel also conducts house visits to encourage and motivate people with disabilities to take part in outdoor activities and integrate into society. In other cases, Access Israel publicizes its activities through the media and invite all people with disabilities to join. The Board of Directors of Access Israel also includes people with disabilities and encourages the Board of Directors to operate accessible businesses.
