    Organizational structure: The board of directors conduct the affairs of the Association in accordance with the articles of incorporation, by-laws, standing rules, directives adopted by the members voting in a Members'Meeting. The IAVE Board of Directors shall be responsible for the operating policies and the fiscal management and approval of accounts; the management of contracts or agreements. The secretariat is responsible for pracitices; The Board of Directors are President, Vice President, 6 Regional Presentatives, and up to 5 board members, either appointed by the Board of Directors or elected by an appropriate constituency within the membership, in line with current stategic priorities. The Board may appoint honorary non-voting Board members.
    Number and type of members: There are more than 500 Individual and 100 Organizations, and 30 Corporate members as of July 2012. There are non-voting Associate members including youth.
