Mission statement:	The Center for Sustainability at Ramapo College of New Jersey is committed to research and practice in the field of sustainable development, broadly defined. Using participatory and collaborative processes, the Center will seek to engage community within Northern New Jersey, the United States and the world, in efforts to advocate for alternative and transformative sustainability practices in the areas of land use management, urban ecology, climate change adaptation, habitat conservation, energy policy, poverty alleviation, gender equality, transportation planning and community development. The Center will engage as well in research and education as it pertains to curriculum development and decision systems within the domain of sustainable development.
