| Organizational structure: |
1. Board of Directors.
The Organization's board of directors comprises seven founding members, with effective participation of females, as a manifestation of the belief of the general assembly in women's role in society. Working on a voluntary basis, the directors carry out the functions of outlining the Organization's framework, following up the implementation of activities, dealing with donors, raising funds, and undertaking communication and networking with other governmental and nongovernmental development organizations.
2. General Assembly.
Apart from volunteers, the general assembly consists of 60 members, 20 of which are females, divided into active members (who pay the annual membership fees and are thus eligible for voting) and volunteers (who contribute their personal experience and resources to the Organization's projects).
3. Executive & Administrative Body.
The Organization has eight employees, headed by a chief executive officer (CEO), a field work & sustainable development program manager, a secretary, and a chief financial officer (CFO). In addition, volunteers participate in the administration of activities and projects, and they serve also as candidates for hiring, which reflects positively on the efficiency and proficiency of the Organization as a whole. They are part of an institutional and well-regulated system supervised by the field work & sustainable development program manager.
4. Volunteers.
The Organization's philosophy is to promote a volunteering culture among youths, attaching considerable importance to the role of that segment of the local community. Volunteers convene weekly at the headquarters, and they attend training courses prepared by the head of the human resources department. It is worth mentioning that most of the Organization's employees had initially been volunteers.
5. Financial System.
Financial affairs are managed by the CFO, under the supervision of an external auditing firm, which prepares the yearly balance sheet, in cooperation with the CEO and the field work & sustainable development program manager. Project coordinators make periodical reports on the programs they are working on, overseen by the field work & sustainable development program manager.
The Organization aspires to implement a number of sustainable projects that can secure a solid financial position, to avoid reliance on unilateral funding with its negative effects on the Organization. Various channels of fundraising are utilized, including agencies, donors, membership, and licensed fundraising campaigns. |
