Mission statement:	IDA is a privileged atrium for vibrant and high-level intellectual debate. Distinguished students aiming to equip normal cursus studiorum with world-class knowledge and first-hand experiences apply upgrading their status and getting ready for international careers job market challenges. Indeed, IDA’s unique core concept is to provide high-level intensive programs and on field projects which may be attended during the academic year along side with normal university classrooms or professional activities. Under the guidance of a world-class faculty, our students reconsider the past, think critically about the present and work to develop their scholarly and professional skills in ways that will shape and improve the future. What they truly develop is a deep situational awareness and methodical critical thinking mostly about UN mission, activities and principles. The Italian Diplomatic Academy, in fact, is also a proud member of the United Nations Academic Impact. Within this framework IDA regularly attend Model United Nations Conferences around the world, in order to give youth the opportunity to experience firsthand UN activities, mission and get involved into high quality debates concerning international issues. During the year, IDA organizes conferences, round tables, workshops and specific training courses regarding the UN Mission and activities, besides orientation programs on international careers and specialized sessions on international topics, such as gender equality, mainstreaming youth, SDGs (former MDGs), sustainable development and climate change. All the courses are held by outstanding university professors and UN officials. Furthermore, IDA was the leading organization of the Asia-Pacific International Model United Nations in Bangkok, in collaboration with AIT (Asian Institute of Technology), FAO, UNESCO Bangkok and Permanent Missions of more than 40 Countries. The conference was held at UN ESCAP and involved more than 1500 young leaders from Asia-pacific regions, US and Europe. Every year, IDA organizes at UN Building a conference titled “UN: A Message to Young Leaders”, where youngsters mainly from Europe and neighbor countries meet UN officials and discuss the most pressing international issues.
