Mission statement:
Founded in 2013, "Birgə və Sağlam" İctimai Birliyi (Together and Healthy Public Union) is dedicated to supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families. Under the leadership of Aytan Eynalova, whose personal connection to autism through her son drives her commitment, the Union has become a beacon of hope and support for the autism community in Azerbaijan. Our mission is to ensure that every individual with autism, regardless of their background, has access to quality inclusive education, equal employment opportunities, and comprehensive social services. We are committed to creating a society where people with autism can thrive, fully integrated and valued for their unique contributions. A cornerstone of our efforts is the establishment of Autism Centers in Baku and Ganja, which provide specialized rehabilitation and education services to nearly a hundred children and teenagers. These centers, supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and personally endorsed by Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, offer a nurturing environment where individuals with autism can develop essential life skills. Our innovative initiatives, such as Kashalata Cafe, the first inclusive catering service in Azerbaijan, exemplify our commitment to social inclusion. By employing individuals with autism alongside their neurotypical peers, we provide valuable professional experience and foster a sense of belonging and purpose. In addition to our direct services, we place a strong emphasis on professional development and education. Our "Inclusive Development Support Center" collaborates with the Ministry of Science and Education, UNICEF Azerbaijan, and various private and public institutions to conduct workshops and seminars aimed at enhancing the skills of those working with individuals with autism. Through events like the "International Autism ABA Azerbaijan" conference, we bring together global experts to share knowledge and advance research in the field of autism. These efforts underscore the importance of addressing autism-related challenges and promote a greater understanding and acceptance within society. Looking forward, "Birgə və Sağlam" İctimai Birliyi envisions a future where international knowledge is seamlessly integrated into our practices, accreditation and certification standards are achieved, and families receive robust support in their caregiving roles. We are dedicated to expanding our rehabilitation centers across various regions, raising awareness through educational campaigns, and promoting early intervention programs. Our partnerships with esteemed organizations like Deloitte Azerbaijan, KPMG Azerbaijan, bp Azerbaijan, McKinsey & Company, and USAID, along with our collaborations with several ministries and governmental institutions, enable us to continuously strive towards our goals. At "Birgə və Sağlam" İctimai Birliyi, we are unwavering in our commitment to the welfare and empowerment of individuals with autism. We believe in a future where inclusivity and equal opportunities are not just ideals, but realities, ensuring that every individual with autism can live a life of dignity, purpose, and fulfillment.
