| Purpose: | To promote, disseminate and advance through actions, the vital concept of people-centered development, particularly in Mauritius. To stress the importance of regional cooperation, in all its forms, among the countries of the Indian Ocean and in particular the islands of the South West Indian Ocean (Comoros, Madagascar, Reunion, Seychelles and Mauritius). |
| Illustrative Project: | Through a coordinated body of NGOs from each island of the South West Indian Ocean, a community foundation known as "Fondation Communautaire de l'Océan Indien", has been formed. |
