GNCPP SERVES AS THE ARCH AND TOURCH BEARER IN THEIR REPRESENTATION OF ALL CIVIL SOCIETY STANDING, ON THE DEMAND SIDE OF THE SOUVERIGN STATE IN THE COOPERATIVE REPUBLIC OF GUYANA IN THE INSTITUTION OF OVERSIGHT OF THE POLITICAL AND JUDICAL SYSTEMS, STANDING ON THE SUPPLY SIDE. THEIR IMMEDIATE AND FOREMOST PRIMARY MISSION IS TO DELIVER A NEW MANDATE TO THE POLITICAL AND JUDICIAL SUSTEMS FOR THE GOVERNANCE OF THE COUNTRY AND MANAGEMENT OF THE COUNTRY RESOURCES, SO AS TO PROVIDE FOR ECONOMIC LIBERATION AND SOCIAL JUSTICE ON AN EQUAL BASIS BENEFITING ALL GUYANESE BY TAKING THE SOCIETY THROUGH A PARTICIPATORY AND INCLUSIVE DEMOCRACY CONSTITUTION AND ELECTION REFORM PROCESS. |

MISSION STATEMENT
GNCPP is a platform for its members, who include all of Guyana’s Civil Society, wherever they may be situated, such as educators, students, journalists, businesses, professionals, ordinary citizens, religious organizations and public officials, believing in a democratic, free and peaceful Guyana that does not end at its sovereign borders and in particular:
1. Proclaiming that human rights, social justice, rule of law, pluralistic democracy, accountable government and environmentally sustainable development are common values, to which all Guyanese subscribe;
2. Believing that matters of Guyanese relations, sustainable growth and development should not be left for politicians and diplomats to decide upon - and that the positions of civil society must be better articulated and heard;
3. Reaffirming the key role of civil society and people-to-people cooperation in the peaceful development of Guyana and in the overcoming of dividing lines across Guyana;
4. Declaring the establishment of a GNCPP as a Civil Society Forum and a common platform for cooperation and coordination with the purpose to:
a. Develop common positions of civil society groups in the spheres of human rights, social justice, democracy, the rule of law, the environment and other important issues of common interest for the development of our society;
b. Increase and facilitate interaction and cooperation between GNCPP members as well as promoting people to people exchanges;
c. Provide mutual support, assistance and solidarity among civil society groups;
d. Strengthen civil society's influence on the Guyanese relationships, political dialogue and a wider range of intergovernmental interactions;
e. Promote consolidation of shared values, create a shared public space and support future establishment of a common political, economic, cultural and social space of a Guyana that will be pivoted on a foundation that provides for a collective National Unity Democratic Governance System;
5. And commit GNCPP to the following activities towards the purpose of achieving these goals:
a. Hold general and thematic meetings to discuss issues of common concern, share experiences and best practices;
b. Plan joint initiatives and develop common positions and recommendations to be promoted on various levels;
c. Establish broadest possible network of civil society groups that subscribe to the goals of GNCPP and are willing to work together towards their achievement;
d. Produce publications, adopt statements, reach out to the public, engage in dialogue with governments, implement joint projects and direct exchanges and in other ways;
e. Work towards achieving the goals of GNCPP and strive to develop a permanent dialogue platform in order to build a common Guyanese space for civil society within and beyond our sovereign beyond borders;
f. Maintain the nature of GNCPP as a bottom-up, non-partisan civic initiative, independent from government and political systems;
And ensure a transparent and democratic model of governance with decisions taken collectively by the General Assembly of GNCPP or an
In addition this Think Tank will seek to provide the tools and training for new political leaders and it will challenge the present political system within the state; monitor future elections processes and government performance. The Think Tank will act as pressure group to lobby government to effect changes that impact on the lives of individuals despite of their race, religion or creed. |
