Publications: Access Now publishes a number of policy documents each year pertaining to its mission. While we do not have regular publications that we publish on an annual or semiannual basis, we are continually publishing papers and resources on the range of issues that we work on.
Purpose of the organization: Access Now is a global movement premised on the belief that political participation and the realization of human rights in the 21st century is increasingly dependent on access to the internet and other forms of technology. Access Now teams with digital activists and civil society groups internationally to build their technical capacity and to help them advocate globally for their digital rights. Access provides thought leadership and practical policy recommendations in the broader field of internet freedom, and based on that expertise mobilizes its global movement of citizens to work for an open internet accessible to all.
Activities relevant to the conference of States Parties to the convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: Underpinning Access Now's work is the vision of an open internet accessible for all, which is consistent with the objectives of the conference of States Parties to the convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, in particular Article 4(b) and Article 9.2(g).
