Rising Community Star
Since 2019, Rising Community Star Project has offered professional mentorship for students interested in theater-related careers. This year, for the first time since its inception, the 2022 – 25 Rising Community Star Project will include a focus on theatrical design.
In the coming year, a passionate team of local teens will be assembled to envision, create, and perform a festival of short-form musicals—also written by local teens. And—for the first time— using original sets, costumes, and other design elements created as part of the process.
This page includes descriptions of participant roles, a calendar of key dates and events, and general information about the program. All prospective participants must apply and plan to interview (or audition) for a specific team.

Our aim is to stabilize and uplift the wide range of cultural practices, participation and creative expressions of the peoples keeping in view the diversity of Aotearoa New Zealand which is the true essence of this blessed land. As we believe that art and culture sector play a key role in contributing to the social, cultural, and economic health of New Zealand.
