Through sharing experiences and lessons learned by selected countries in the region, participants will enhance capacities of developing an OGD Action Plan including the building blocks required for successful OGD implementation. The Workshop will also offer an opportunity to review OGD strategies and action plans in collaboration with regional peers and experts.

This event is being organized as part of the project on ôStrengthening of Capacities of Developing Countries to Provide Access to Information for Sustainable Development through Open Government Data (OGD)ö. The overall objective of the project is to demonstrate the potential and benefits of using Open Government Data (OGD) in advancing transparency, accountability and sustainable development in selected countries of Latin America and East Asia regions.

The project aims at developing a strategy for creating and utilizing the open data, particularly in thematic areas relevant to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It will also assist selected countries with the development of a policy framework and technical infrastructure for implementation of OGD initiatives.
