DCF Argentina High-level Symposium

Argentina
06 - 08 September, 2017

The DCF Argentina High-level Symposium will take place in Buenos Aires on 6-8 September 2017, as the first preparatory symposium for the 2018 Development Cooperation Forum and as a key milestone in the run up to BAPA+40.

Nearly forty years since the historic UN Conference on Technical Cooperation among Developing Countries of 1978 in Buenos Aires, South-South cooperation has become an effective modality for the exchange of capacity building, technology and know-how among developing countries. Both the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda welcome the increased contribution of South-South cooperation to poverty eradication and sustainable development.

South-South cooperation, also in partnership with other stakeholders, has the potential to foster trade, strengthen bilateral and regional ties, as well as become an effective way of mobilizing resources.

South-South and triangular cooperation continue to expand and evolve. They are flourishing at different levels, involving a multiplicity of actors. The symposium will bring together policymakers and development experts representing the diversity of stakeholders to advance South-South and triangular cooperation in the SDG era.
