Strengthening countriesĺ capacity to produce statistics on asset ownership from a gender perspective

Tbilisi, Georgia
25 - 28 June, 2018

UNSD, in collaboration with FAO and regional commissions, will organize three regional workshops under the Evidence and Data for Gender Equality (EDGE) project to present the key recommendations from the United Nations Methodological Guidelines on the Production of Statistics on Asset Ownership from a Gender Perspective, which provide national statistical agencies with guidance on collecting, processing, analyzing and disseminating individual-level household survey data on asset ownership, including land. Lessons learned from the seven EDGE pilot countries which tested the methodology will also be shared, with a view toward building the capacity of participating countries to collect data on assets at the individual level, including for the monitoring of selected SDG indicators, under goal 5 and 1. The first workshop for CIS countries will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia, from 25 to 28 June. This will be followed by a workshop for African Countries in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 24 to 26 July, and by a third workshop for Latin American and the Caribbean countries, organized in Santiago, Chile from 7 to 9 August.
