Mission statement:
The Association of Saint Lazarus-Brazil has the following purposes: -Encourage all actions aimed at strengthening the cultural, moral values and virtues, honor, peace and understanding, integrity and respect, civility and dedication of charitable and humanitarian; -Promote humanitarian, charitable, Social assistance and Hospitaller actions and work, to serve needy persons, patients in emergency or disaster situations, or suffering for any other reasons, without distinction regarding race, social class, gender or religion; -Act on training and free education to underserved populations through direct actions against iliteracy, and streghten cultural, civic and moral values; -Form for free individuals of poor communities to act in situations of emergency care, first aid and prepare them to act in their communities; -Create and/or administer internal units, such as councils, academies, orders, bodies, centres and others to specify their specific actions or their regional activities; -Contact and develop collaboration and support relationships with associations, entities and bodies having similar goals to those described in these statutes; -Reward and recognize through decorations, medals, certificates and diplomas, the individuals or legal entities for their services to humanitarian causes and charitable; -Create, keep and maintain libraries, museums and collections of books and historical objects that relate or are relevant to the Association; -Promote food and nutritional safety; -Defend, preserve and conserve the environment and sustainable development; -Promote volunteerism; -Promote economic and social development and combating poverty.
