Millennium Development Goals:	Promote gender equality and empower women
Mission statement:	GenderHopes works towards ending gender-based violence in selected countries: Rwanda, Burundi and Afghanistan. As such, GenderHopes works to promote the empowerment of women and their participation in the political, economic and social reconstruction of their countries. It focuses on areas such as education for women and girls, notably in terms of reproductive rights, and justice for victims of sexual and physical violence. GenderHopes also produces articles to raise awareness on violence against women. On the local level, GenderHopes is currently working on a domestic violence project in Monaco. It conducts research and interviews with relevant actors. The aim is to produce a report highlighting the situation for victims of domestic violence in Monaco and to raise public awareness of the problem. GenderHopes is also working towards the full implementation of the Convention to End All Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) by Monaco, who ratified the Convention in 2005.

Organizational structure:	Vibeke Brask Thomsen is the Founder and Director of GenderHopes. She has extensive experience working on violence against women and on women in conflict and post-conflict societies.
