Board
The Board is the main coordination and decision making body of the Association. It is formed by four [4] members of which three [3] are women.
Committee of Recommendation
The Committee of Recommendation was formed by the Board and consists of prominent community members. The Committee of Recommendation provides moral support to the work of the Association. Because of their prominence, the Committee of Recommendation also stands for the highest standards of quality as pursued by the Abaremeshamahoro Association. The Committee of Recommendation is formed by three [3] eminent persons of which one [1] is a women.
Staff
The Staff supports the execution of the tasks carried out by the members of the Board and consists of:
Advisor to the Chair
The Advisor provides council and support in the areas of fundraising, project design, monitoring and evaluation and other crucial management matters.
Communications and Public Relations
The Communications and Public Relations Officer is in charge of the overall implementation of the communications and public relations strategy of the Association.
Secretariat
The Secretariat supports the Board in the administrative area.
These three [3] functions are occupied by women.
Sub-Divisions
The Sub-Divisions were created as separate departments or intervention areas of the Association. There are three Sub-Divisions:
Centre Amahoro
The person designated to this area is in charge of the overall maintenance of the infrastructures. The Centre itself has its own Board consisting of 5 persons of which 3 are women and 2 are men. The President of the Board is a woman.
Project Coordination
This department is in charge of the coordination, monitoring and evaluation of the projects of the Association. Most projects use the facilities of the Centre Amahoro. Depending on the project, different external experts are hired for the implementation stages of each project. The coordination of this department is in the hands of two [2] women.
Community Relations
The person designated to this area is in charge of networking on behalf of the Association and maintaining contacts with other volunteers, relevant partners and stakeholders. The person responsible for this area is a woman.
Decision making
The Board of the ABAREMESHAMAHORO Association meets twice yearly. The Chair, the Members of the Board and/ or anyone else involved with the Association can raise an issue for discussion or for decision making by the Board. These themes are gathered through the Secretariat. Three weeks before the Meeting of the Board, the Chair and the vice-Chairs establish the Agenda based on the issues at hand. Subsequently, all items on the Agenda are discussed during the Board Meetings. All decisions are recorded in the Minutes of the Board and communicated to the parties involved if necessary. In case of discrepancies, the Board takes a vote based on the principle of a simple majority.
Volunteers
The Abaremeshamahoro Association works with a great number of volunteers. They are highly esteemed and their contribution is much valued. The majority of volunteers are women. When necessary they do contact the Board to raise points of concern. They are very enthusiastic and very much involved with the work of the Abaremeshamahoro Association. |
