The government of the university is vested in the board of regents. The regents shall have power to enact ordinances, by-laws and regulations for the government of the university; to elect a president, to fix, increase and reduce the regular number of professors and to determine the amount of their salaries. The university shall consist of at least 3 departments: a department of literature, science and the arts; a department of law; a department of medicine. The University has a President, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Executive Vice President for Medical Affairs, Vice President for Government Relations, Vice President for Research, Vice President for Development, Vice President for Student Life, Vice President and Secretary of the University, Vice President and General Counsel, Vice President for Global Communications and Strategic Initiatives, all of which make up the Executive Officers. The University of Michigan has three campuses: Ann Arbor, Flint, and Dearborn Michigan. The university has 18 schools: Architecture & Urban Planning, Art & Design, Business, Dentistry, Education, Engineering, Information, Kinesiology, Law, Literature Science & the Arts, Medicine, Music Theatre and Dance, Natural Resources & Environment, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Public Policy, Rackham School of Graduate Studies, Social work. |
