    Organizational structure: The Universal Rights Group is foreseen as a small, dynamic organisation, focused on qualitative impact. Its strategy and work is developed in consultation with a Board of Trustees. The Board is composed of eminent experts and thought-leaders from around the world. An Advisory Committee made up of respected human rights scholars, civil society leaders and journalists advises the secretariat and the Board of Trustees on substantive content. The Group’s programme of work is implemented by a small secretariat based in Geneva.
    Number and type of members: The Board of Trustees consist of 13 members (i) Mr Christof Heyns, former Special Rapporteur; (ii) Professor Sir Nigel Rodley , Member of the UN Human Rights Committee; (iii) Professor Michael O’Flaherty, Chief Commissioner of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission; (iv) Dr. Nazila Ghanea-Hercock - University of Oxford (v) Professor Juan Mendez UN Special Rapporteur on torture; (vi) Professor John Knox, UN Independent Expert on human rights and the environment; (vii) Professor Abdullahi Ahmed An-Na’im , Professor of Law, Emory University School of Law (viii)ustice Sophia A. B. Akuffo -Judge of the Supreme Court of Ghana; (ix)Professor Daniel Magraw -Professor at John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (x) Professor Paul Hunt (xi) Ms. Yasmin Sooka Executive Director for the Foundation for Human Rights. (xii) Professor Heiner Bielefeldt -UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief; (xiii) Ms. Catarina de Albuquerque. The Advisory Committee consist of 19 members who are either from the academia, Non Governmental Organisations, Press, UN Expert, Human Rights Institutions.
