The Refugee Council of Australia is a membership-based organisation, with organisational and individual members. The members elect a Board, which sets the strategic direction for the organisation and provides expert input on refugee policy members. The organisation is served by a secretariat, headed by the Chief Executive Officer, which coordinates the organisation's work in research, policy development, awareness-raising, training and project management. |

As at July 2016, the Refugee Council of Australia had approximately 200 organisational members and 900 individual members. Organisational members include Australian organisations involved in assist refugees and asylum seekers. |
