Organizational structure: |
The organization has the following structure: 1. The Advisory Board-Consists of people supportive of purpose and principles of the organization that advises the Board of Governors, as required. No binding effect of any advice. 2. Board of Governors- Board of Governors shall assert its authority to secure that the nonprofit's mission is fulfilled, and the organization is held accountable to the government, its members, and to the general public. A member of the Board of Governors shall be elected for a period of three years. 3. Executive Committee: The organization's committee may be comprised of 71 members in total but the Board of Governors may increase the number to accommodate more leaders for the benefit of the organization. The Executive Committee has Three (3) Presidents to reflect the participation of all 3 religious faiths (In Bangladesh there are no Jewish people, fyi), one General Secretary, 4 joint secretaries, 4 Organizing Secretaries, and 11 other secretarial positions. The Executive Committee is the primary functioning body of the organization empowered with running the day-to-day operations of the organization. 5. Membership: Two types- i) Member (takes part in decision making process) and ii) General Member (can attend and contribute to decision making process that maybe accepted by Membership). A member or a general member can be a member for Life if s/he wants. 6. Supporter: The organization may register, as supporters, any interested individual belonging to and irrespective of their ethnicity, country of origin, religious affiliation or non-religious person or groups who conform to the mission of the organization and function within the constraints of the its by-laws. |
Number and type of members: |
The Organization has formally 58 members and growing. There are Two types of members: 1. Members (who are eligible to vote and participate in decision making process) and 2. General Members (they can attend all meetings, make suggestions and comments). Both Member or General Member can be a Member for Life with one-time payment of $500. There are provisions for becoming Supporters of the organization. Their donation is voluntary, not mandatory. The real spirit of the organization is volunteerism. All the members are committed and motivated to be part of the activism whenever needed. All the decisions made on behalf of the organization are extremely participatory. Whatever the criteria of the membership they can make their opinion heard in decision-making process as and when required. |
