    Organizational structure: LIVELIHOOD is a membership organisation; with the General Assembly being the supreme organ of the organization. It oversees the activities of the Executive Board and evaluates their performances. The General Assembly meets once a year. Executive Board members called Board of Directors (BOD) are elected from among members, for a term of 5 years renewable. The Board of Directors is lead by a Chairperson who is elected by the general assembly of members. The BOD meets six times a year. The BOD appoints the Executive Director who handles the day-to-day activities of the organisation and reports back to the BOD. The BOD oversees the activities of the organisation through the Executive Director and his/her team. The BOD appoints an external auditor once every year to audit the records of the organisation. The work of the elected members of the Board of Directors is not be voluntary and so is not remunerated. The Executive: Ø Evaluates the activities of the organisation and make propositions to the BOD for improvement. Ø Organise recruitment of personnel, appraises the participation of all recruited staff of the organisation. Ø Defines and be able to terminate the engagement of personnel Ø Works in close collaboration with other members of the committee on the Director shall. Ø Draw up all documents, which ought to be submitted to the Board of Directors Ø Coordinate and control the different activities of the organization Ø Represent the organization in all activities internal and external. He/she is called to appear in the court of justice in the name of the organization and is invested with extended functions to contract and conclude all agreements for and in the name of the organisation Ø Manage the Secretariat. Ø Report on ½ yearly basis on the activities of the organization. Ø The functions of he Director are remunerated according to the country’s rule and regulations. Ø Has the right to open an account with any legal financial institution of the Country. Ø Represents the organisation in all external financial matters and in all technical meetings involving the organisation Financial Management All finances received for the organization shall be deposited in the organization’s bank account. The bank account shall have three signatures comprising those of the BOD treasurer and the Executive Director. The two signatures shall be considered valid for financial withdrawals. However the Executive Director can without counter-signature sign withdrawals of up to one hundred thousand (100.000) francs CFA within a month. The use of the money must be well accounted for. For withdrawals of sums above 100.000 francs CFA, a counter signature by the BOD treasurer must future. The Organization’s Cashier handles all petit cash and is allowed to keep and pay at his/her disposal a maximum sum of 100,000 francs CFA. He/she can handle the day-to-day financial records of the organisation and update records on a monthly basis. Any amount to be paid above this sum must be done so by cheque, and any cash received for the organization must be deposited in the organization’s bank account. The Executive Director must authorize all payments.
