Mission statement:
Discovery Team International (DTI), a human resources development and research network was born in the year 2000 as a revolutionary movement. A community of students and youths globally whose aim is to offer new leadership to the world. DTI was launched as a response to the challenging position of African youths who are the most productive force in the economy and socio-political system of the continent, Yet the prisoner of reactionary aristocracy practiced by our government. The major aim of the organization is the Realization of the MDGs. DTI involves in many activities which include-advocacy/social mobilization, policy formulation, program design, monitoring and evaluation, manpower and industrial development, re-orientation and attitudinal shaping, skills/career development, technical/professional and development partnership for programme execution, research and human resources development. In her A-Strategies, DTI has-1) Catch them young outreaches-to communities, institutions and organizations including orphanages and prisons. 2) Build the Mind campaign-involves capacity building and trainings. 3)Give a hand project-our charity network where we offer scholarships,awards,grants,fellowships,community developments projects,etc. 4) Its time to go out -our voluntary missions where we mostly engaged our medical teams and social workers. 5) Let’s know ourselves-is our vacation retreat. Under the B-strategies we have-1) The Discovery Summit-in all institutions of learning where young discoverers tackled global issues and research is promoted. 2) Discovery Spring-our publication network. 3) DTI Annual International Conference-which draws participants around the globe to discuss and tackled global challenges. Presently, the organization has a membership of about 40,000 youths /students in Nigeria and beyond including young graduates from different fields who form core of our voluntary missions. The Slogan in DTI is - I Will Rather Light the Candle than Curse the darkness.
