Owing to the alarming unemployment phenomenon in our country today, it is but premodial that the unemployed need to identify and merge their talents together, be creative and come up with positive ideas that will eventually be concretized into reality in order to sustain livelihood.
It is in line with this that young unemployed dynamic and talented youth sharing similar life’s vision brainstormed and came up with a C.I.G
ARTICLE 1
1.1 CREATION:
A common Initiative Group is hereby set up this day, 20th June 2008. Law No. 92/006 of 14th August 1992 and its Decree No. 92/455/PM of 23rd Of November 1992 shall govern this group.
1.2 NAME:
The group shall operate as African Leadership Community Link/Advancement Program Kumba Common Initiative Group. Abbreviated as ALCOMLAP-CIG
1.3 AREA OF JURISDICTION:
(a) Primary Focus: Meme Division
(b) Long term: To expand to other parts in the national territory and the world at large.
ARTICLE 2: LIFE SPAN
This group shall exist as long as the interest of the group is been protected except in the event of premature dissolution or extension.
ARTICLE 3: OBJECTIVES
3.1. To sensitize the farmers on better ways of acquiring loans from government.
3.2. To train the community on better ways of starting sustainable businesses and how to market their farm products.
3.3. To fight against unemployment by encouraging conferences, seminars and international exchange.
ARTICLE 4: MEMBERSHIP
4.1 Membership is open to all irrespective of ethnicity, sex, age, religion, political leaning and nationality deemed fit by the General Assembly to foster the interest and objectives of the group.
- Such individuals make known their interest and desires to become members by writing to the Delegate, and application will be looked upon by the general Assembly for approval or denial.
- Once membership is approved member shall sign an admission contract
- Must abide to the rules and regulations of the group
- Member shall have their names written in the membership register
- Members must be of good conduct.
- Most pay a registration fee of five thousand francs (5000) as individual and ten thousand francs (10.000) as group
- Most pay a share of two thousand francs (2000)
- Shall be paid by (1) cheques, (2) Cash.
ARTICLE 5: RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
5.1 All members shall have the right to:
- Comply with these article of Association and Internal Regulation
- Be elected to the Executive Bureau of the group
- Participate in all general Meetings
- Freely consult any documents pertaining to the CIG
- Enjoy all the services provided by the group
- Withdraw from the group if their expectations are not met
- Members are entitling to a membership card. The card will carry the following information:

ARTICLE 6: WITHDRAWAL AND EXPULSION
6.1 Withdrawal
- Withdrawal of membership must be addresses to the attention of the general Assembly two months earlier for consideration.
- A member has the right to withdraw from the group provided he/she is not indebted in any way to the CIG
6.2 Expulsion
- Any member who intentionally violates the provision of these Articles of Association shall be expelled
- Persistent absent in group activities for a period of three months shall lead to expulsion, if not duly explained with proves
- Any member involved in embezzlement of group’s funds will be expelled.
ARTICLE 7: FINANCIAL YEAR / SOURCES OF FINANCES
7.1 Financial Year
- The financial year shall begin on the 1st of January and close on the 31ST of December each year. |
