    Organizational structure: The School of Environmental Studies Education Foundation (SESEF) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) Community Foundation dedicated to supporting the excellent education of students at the School of Environmental Studies. The school is part of Independent School District 196 and is located in Apple Valley, Minnesota, USA. The foundation, established in 1999, encourages high academic standards, experiential learning, and excellence in teaching. It provides scholarships and grants as well as organizational support for new and innovative projects and local, national, and global initiatives that support the goals and mission of the organization. The Foundation seeks to support environmentally focused student experiences, foster a common interest in protecting the environment, collaborate with individuals and like-minded non-profit and business entities, and encourage the development of life-long learners and committed, proactive global citizens.
    Number and type of members: The Board of Directors of the School of Environmental Studies Education Foundation is compromised of 25 members. The Directors are broadly representative of the interests of the Foundation and possess applicable professional skills and experience to support the work of the Foundation and the School of Environmental Studies. Directors include parents, faculty, administration, alumni, and citizens at large interested in the success of the School of Environmental Studies and its students.
    Affiliation with NGO networks: Affiliated with the ENGO and YOUNGO Constituencies of Civil Society Organizations accredited to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
